Brazilian electrical equipment manufacturer WEG SA unveiled plans to venture into the wind turbine manufacturing market in the United States, according to a notice released to the market earlier this week.
The company disclosed its intention to produce its 7.X MW wind turbine platform at its high-voltage motors and generators factory located in Minneapolis.
WEG refrained from divulging specific details regarding initial investments, asserting that such figures are not significant and have already been factored into the capital budget.
Benefiting from modular capability and operational flexibility, the Minneapolis facility is poised to expand and adapt to accommodate the company's evolving requirements. WEG anticipates the commencement of equipment shipment by 2026.
