Eaton, an American-Irish power management company, has announced a strategic collaboration with US energy infrastructure solutions provider Endurant Energy to facilitate the deployment of over 150 megawatt-hours (MWh) of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across New York City's Bronx and Staten Island boroughs.
The partnership encompasses a series of ten energy storage projects, collectively valued at more than USD 7 million (EUR 6.50 million), aimed at bolstering grid resilience and supporting buildings during peak demand periods, according to a press release.
Eaton's role in the collaboration extends to assisting in the design of the BESS facilities and providing essential power system studies, as well as supplying equipment such as switchgear, switchboards, and transformers.
Endurant Energy, recognized as a distributed energy infrastructure developer, specializes in offering comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, along with operations and maintenance (O&M) support for a wide array of energy technologies including geothermal, combined heat and power (CHP), fuel cell, solar, and storage solutions.
