Swiss asset manager responsAbility Investments AG has pledged to invest up to USD 35 million (EUR 32.7m) in Ampin Energy Transition Private Limited, a renewable energy platform based in India, to propel its domestic development pipeline.
This significant investment marks a landmark commitment to climate financing on behalf of responsAbility, forming part of its USD 500 million climate investment strategy aimed at actively mitigating carbon dioxide emissions across Asia, as outlined in a press release today.
AmpIn, headquartered in New Delhi and formerly known as Amp Energy India, boasts a diverse portfolio spanning 3 GWp across 21 states in India. Catering to both commercial and industrial (C&I) as well as utility customers, the company has set its sights on achieving an operational capacity of 10 GWp by 2030.
The infusion of fresh capital will empower Ampin to undertake an array of projects through its subsidiaries, with a primary focus on C&I solar initiatives across various sectors in India, including manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, hospitals, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and data centers.
