France has announced the success of solar projects with a combined capacity approaching 50 MWp in a recent tender for photovoltaic (PV) capacity in non-interconnected zones (ZNIs) in overseas territories.
The Ministry of Ecological Transition revealed the results of the first round under the country's multi-year energy procurement program, PPE2, with 15 winners securing projects totaling 49.76 MWp. While the specific pricing details were not disclosed, the announcement marks a significant step in France's renewable energy ambitions.
Among the victorious entities are notable names in the French renewable energy landscape, including Corsica Sole, Akuo, Helexia (a subsidiary of Voltalia), and EDF Renewables. The complete list of awarded projects can be found on the ministry's official website.
Leading the allocation of projects is the department of Haute-Corse, securing a total capacity of 27.78 MWp, followed by the Indian Ocean department Reunion with 4.35 MWp.
France's PPE2 initiative aims to allocate nearly 29 GW of renewable power generation capacity by 2026.
