Exus Renewables has recently made a significant stride by acquiring a 51MW wind farm project situated in the northern region of Spain. The acquisition, sourced from the independent Spanish entity Enhol Group, underscores Exus Renewables' strategic agenda to fortify its presence in Spain's renewable energy landscape.
The project, now poised for construction, is slated to commence commercial operations by the third quarter of 2025. Notably, this agreement marks the initial phase of Exus's broader strategy to firmly establish itself within the renewable energy domain of the region.
Víctor Lopez, the Head of M&A at Exus Renewables, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “This acquisition marks another milestone in Exus' transition to an independent power producer, further solidifying our position as a leading player in the renewable energy sector.”
Moreover, Lopez reiterated Exus's commitment to delivering clean, dependable energy solutions that contribute significantly to fostering a sustainable future.
In addition to the wind farm project, Exus eyes potential enhancements through solar hybridization, co-located battery storage, and advanced energy management solutions, thereby reflecting its progressive outlook towards renewable energy integration.
Roberto Sabalza, the Chief Executive of Grupo Enhol's Energy & Service Division, echoed the sentiment of collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to work together with Exus on this transaction.” Sabalza further emphasized the immense potential of the project and hailed the agreement as a substantial stride in advancing renewable energy initiatives in the region.
The transaction was facilitated with the expertise of renowned advisory firms. PwC and Garrigues law firm lent their expertise as sell-side advisors to Grupo Enhol, while Uria Menendez law firm provided advisory services to Exus, ensuring a smooth transition and facilitating the consolidation of renewable energy efforts.
