Sonatrach and Hecate Energy Forge Alliance for Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen Projects in Algeria

's state-owned oil company, , has entered into a strategic partnership with Global Renewables (HGR Energy), the international arm of US-based renewables and storage developer Hecate Energy, to collaboratively explore renewable energy and green production opportunities within Algeria.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on Monday outlines a comprehensive framework for joint feasibility studies aimed at evaluating the potential establishment of renewable energy production projects in Algeria. Additionally, the partnership intends to investigate the utilization of renewable resources for production initiatives, in alignment with Sonatrach's commitment to the national strategy for renewable energy development.
