Exagen has disclosed that it has obtained consent from the Tewkesbury Borough Council to proceed with the development of the Brockworth Road Energy Reserve, a project boasting a capacity of 20 MW / 40 MWh.
The proposed Brockworth Road Energy Reserve will serve as a battery energy storage system (BESS), strategically linked to an existing 33 kV overhead line situated east of the junction connecting the M5 and A417, and west of Brockworth Road, in close proximity to Tewkesbury, UK. The infrastructure blueprint includes the deployment of a standalone battery energy storage system, accompanied by ancillary facilities such as access tracks, secure fencing, and substation buildings.
An essential component of the project involves the installation of an approximately 80-meter-long section of buried cable, establishing connectivity between the battery system and the point of connection into the existing 33kV overhead power line. The point of connection, along with limited supporting infrastructure, is situated within a confined area west of the main system.
