Foxconn Group has announced its commitment to the RE100 initiative, vowing to transition to 100% green power across its global plants by 2040.
Speaking on behalf of Foxconn, Chairman Young Liu stated, “Foxconn will continue to look for the most suitable international standards. The decision to respond to RE100 is also based on this concept.” This commitment reflects Foxconn's dedication to aligning with global sustainability standards.
Liu further expressed hope that Foxconn's proactive response to RE100 would not only benefit its supply chain and partners but also advance sustainable management. This aligns with Foxconn's overarching operational approach known as the Double E formula of EPS+ESG.
Foxconn has already made significant strides in its environmental goals, publicly committing to achieving a 50% green power target by 2030. In 2023, the company's green power utilization surpassed 40%, a testament to its ongoing efforts in this area.
With 205 factories and offices in 24 countries and regions worldwide, Foxconn acknowledges the challenges of achieving 100% green power usage, including varying renewable energy resources and regulatory frameworks. To overcome these challenges, Foxconn plans to implement a range of measures, including energy efficiency improvements, self-built solar power stations, green Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and investments in green energy funds.
