US-based firm KBR has inked a pivotal contract with Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) to supply its cutting-edge K-GreeN green ammonia technology for the Holmaneset Energy project in Norway.
Under the terms of the agreement, KBR will furnish technology licenses, proprietary engineering design, and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) support engineering services for the construction of a groundbreaking 675 metric tonnes per day green ammonia plant in Norway.
Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to work with Fortescue on this project to offer our zero-carbon green ammonia technology.” Ibrahim further emphasized KBR's commitment to driving sustainability in hard-to-abate industries, asserting, “KBR is a significant contributor in the development of the green energy value chain and decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries, and we look forward to working with Fortescue to advance their ESG objectives.”
The Holmaneset Energy project represents a pivotal step in Norway's transition towards renewable energy solutions, with green ammonia emerging as a key player in the quest for carbon-neutral fuel alternatives. This partnership between KBR and FFI underscores the growing momentum behind green technology adoption on a global scale.
