Marco Polo Marine has announced that its maiden commissioning service operations vessel (CSOV) is scheduled for delivery in September, with deployment in for a Vestas project in early October 2024.

The 83-meter long ship, currently under construction at Marco Polo Shipyard in Batam, , can accommodate up to 110 persons and will be the first CSOV to be designed in Asia. It will be equipped with a walk-to-work gangway, a 3D motion-compensated crane, and hybrid-based energy storage systems expected to reduce emissions by up to 20%.

In September 2022, Marco Polo Marine unveiled plans to build, own, and operate a CSOV to meet the increasing demand for support vessels from the offshore wind farm industry in Asia.

PKR Offshore Co, the Group's Taiwan-based subsidiary, signed a Framework Agreement with Vestas Taiwan Co to deploy the CSOV across offshore wind farms in the Asia-Pacific region for three years.

PKR Offshore Co secured a project from Bank SinoPac Taiwan on 15 April 2024 for the CSOV project. This development marks a significant step forward in Marco Polo Marine's efforts to support the offshore wind farm industry in Asia.
