Finnish clean energy solutions provider Meriaura Energy Ltd announced on Monday that it has secured a contract valued at approximately EUR 1.7 million (USD 1.81m) to construct a solar thermal plant in France.
The contract entails the turnkey delivery of a 5,800-square-metre (62,431 sq ft) solar thermal field for Les Serres Vermeil SARL, an organic vegetable producer based in Palau-del-Vidre, southern France. Serres Vermeil will utilize the plant to heat its greenhouse complex, according to Meriaura Energy.
The project was developed in collaboration with Eiffage Energie Systemes – Cogénération SAS, a division of French construction giant Eiffage SA (EPA:FGR).
Construction of the plant is scheduled to commence in 2024, with Meriaura Energy aiming to complete the project in early 2025.
Meriaura Energy, formerly known as Savosolar, is a part of the Finnish marine logistics and renewable energy company Meriaura Group Oyj.
