Nordex, a leading wind turbine manufacturer, has announced a robust order intake for the first quarter of 2024, totaling 338 turbines with a combined capacity of 2086MW. This figure represents a significant increase compared to the 1021MW intake recorded in the same period last year.
According to Nordex's financial report, the average sales price per megawatt of capacity (ASP) for Q1 2024 stood at €850,000, slightly lower than the €900,000 recorded in Q1 2023.
Jose Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex, expressed his satisfaction with the company's performance, stating, “With an order intake of more than 2GW and stable prices, we are building on the success of previous quarters and making a good start to the new year. I am very pleased that we have won several major orders in different regions, as this shows that our turbines are in demand both within Europe and beyond.”
In Q1 2024, Nordex received orders from eleven countries, with Germany, South Africa, and Lithuania being the largest single markets.
Nordex has a strong global presence, having installed approximately 50GW of wind energy capacity in over 40 markets. In 2023, the company generated revenues of €6.5bn and currently employs a workforce of 10,000.
The company's manufacturing capacity includes factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and Mexico, with a mothballed facility in the United States. Nordex's product portfolio is primarily focused on onshore turbines in the 4MW to 6MW+ class.
