France has awarded 362.2 MWp of capacity in its sixth tender round of the multi-year energy procurement programme (PPE2) for rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.
The total capacity falls short of the 400 MWp target and compares to 378.3 MW allocated in the previous call for tenders. The list of winners in the latest competition includes 90 projects, according to data released by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition.
The tender was open to proposals of above 500 kWp for photovoltaic (PV) arrays atop buildings, agricultural greenhouses, shade houses, barns, and carports.
The average price at which the proposals were awarded was EUR 102.10 (USD 110.54) per MWh, against EUR 101.95/MWh in round five.
Energy major TotalEnergies emerged as the largest winner, securing 22% of the overall capacity with 80.1 MWp of projects. Other successful projects include schemes totaling 18.5 MWp by Urbasolar, while Akuo and Neoen secured 18.2 MWp and 14.4 MWp, respectively. The next tender for rooftop C&I projects will also offer 400 MWp.
