Enercon GmbH, a leading German wind turbine manufacturer, has announced an agreement with joint venture company Enerjisa Uretim to deliver the remaining wind turbines for a 1,000-megawatt (MW) wind power project in Turkey.
Under the agreement, Enercon will supply 250 MW of its turbines to complete the second phase of the Renewable Energy Resources Zone (YEKA) 2 wind project. This phase will utilize 60 units of Enercon's E-138 EP3 E2 turbines.
Enercon is already in the process of manufacturing turbines for the first phase of YEKA 2, totaling 750 MW.
Enerjisa Uretim, a joint venture between German energy major E.ON SE and Turkey's Sabanci Holding, secured 500 MW in the YEKA RES 2 tender, with Enercon winning the contract for the remaining 500 MW.
In this partnership, Enerjisa Uretim will serve as the investor and operator of the project, while Enercon will handle the manufacturing and supply of the wind turbines.
