Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd, a global independent solar power producer, has announced its inaugural engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) framework agreement with French construction company Eiffage SA, aimed at enhancing construction activities in Spain, Italy, and Portugal.
Under the agreement, Eiffage will provide EPC services through its Spanish unit, Eiffage Energia Sistemas. Sonnedix's project pipeline in these three countries includes 858 MW of renewables currently under construction and a further 1.72 GW in development.
The agreement marks a strategic move for Sonnedix, streamlining its construction processes by standardizing general terms and conditions for all future EPC agreements with Eiffage Energia Sistemas. This approach is expected to eliminate the time and resources typically required for standalone EPC agreements, which can take two to three months to finalize.
Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “This innovative initiative will see us partner with a trusted EPC contractor to help us convert our huge pipeline of renewable energy projects. Eiffage has a strong track record in our key markets of Spain, Italy, and Portugal, and is exactly the type of company we look to build long-term partnerships with.”
By leveraging Eiffage's expertise and streamlining construction processes, Sonnedix aims to accelerate its growth and pipeline conversion, furthering its commitment to sustainable energy solutions in the region.
