GreenYellow Plans Significant Solar PV Expansion in Europe, Focuses on Italy

company has announced its ambition to develop nearly 400 MW of solar (PV) projects in Europe in 2023, with a particular emphasis on the Italian market.

The Milan-based company revealed on Wednesday its strategic plan to invest more than EUR 100 million (USD 108.6m) in over the next three years, in partnership with its majority owner, French private equity firm Ardian.

GreenYellow's entry into the Italian market includes the acquisition of a portfolio of rooftop PV plants with a combined capacity of 6.2 MWp from Casillo Group, marking its first investment in the country.

As of the end of 2023, GreenYellow had over 1,320 solar parks with a total capacity of 1,360 MWp either in operation or under construction. The company, specializing in decentralized solar energy, has invested approximately EUR 2 billion in corporate energy transition projects since its establishment in 2007.
