Honeywell International Inc has secured a role in Vietnam's inaugural green hydrogen production venture, leveraging its advanced smart solutions for energy storage to facilitate the seamless integration of renewables into the facility.
The US-based conglomerate announced today the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with The Green Solutions Group Corporation (TGS), aimed at providing Honeywell's battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology, along with additional solutions and expertise.

Situated across an expansive area exceeding 20 hectares, the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen project is strategically positioned within the Mekong Delta region, poised to emerge as a pivotal green energy nucleus for the local community. The plant's core objective is to produce green hydrogen through seawater electrolysis, initially targeting an annual output of 24,000 tonnes of hydrogen and 195,000 tonnes of medical-grade oxygen.
Marking a significant milestone, a ground-breaking ceremony for the project, valued at VND 8 trillion (USD 327 million/EUR 303 million), was conducted in March 2023.
With construction endeavors anticipated to conclude within a two-year timeframe, the trajectory for the Tra Vinh Green Hydrogen project underscores Vietnam's burgeoning commitment to sustainable energy initiatives and underscores Honeywell's pivotal role in advancing the nation's renewable energy landscape.
