Construction has commenced on MET Group's latest renewable energy endeavor, the Kaba 2 solar project, located in Eastern Hungary. The project, boasting a capacity of 23MWp, is anticipated to begin commercial operations in the latter part of 2024.
Situated across an expanse of nearly 32 hectares, the solar plant will be adorned with over 33,000 solar panels, harnessing the region's abundant sunlight to generate clean energy. This initiative marks MET Group's seventh solar project in the region, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
The decision to embark on the construction of the Kaba 2 solar park in the municipality of Kaba, approximately 200 kilometers east of Budapest, follows the successful commissioning of the MET Kabai Solar Park (KSP) project in 2021. This underscores MET Group's dedication to expanding its renewable energy portfolio through in-house, greenfield project development efforts.
In a bid to enhance project management efficiency, MET Group's project management team will be supplemented by AI technology. This advanced software will analyze visual data captured by drones, monitoring various aspects of construction, including compliance with design specifications and timelines. The integration of AI technology aims to preempt errors and optimize efficiency throughout the construction process.
