Enviromena, a clean energy company based in the UK, has announced the acquisition of a contract to repower three government-subsidized solar farms with a collective capacity of approximately 20 MWp. The move aims to address performance and availability challenges that have emerged over the operational lifespan of these sites, each of which has been in operation for over a decade.
The repowering project entails a comprehensive overhaul, including the deployment of uprated inverters where necessary, replacement of all direct current (DC) cabling, and upgrades to electrical infrastructure. These measures are designed to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the solar farms, ensuring optimal performance for years to come.

The solar plants slated for repowering under this contract include the Halse Solar Farm in Taunton, the Horsacott Solar Farm in Barnstaple, and the Jordanston Solar Farm in Tenby.
Enviromena has already initiated thorough site surveys to assess the condition of the existing infrastructure and determine the most effective course of action to restore all three sites to full operational capacity. According to a press statement issued by Enviromena, these surveys mark the initial steps towards achieving the goal of achieving 100% availability for each site.
