Innova Secures Planning Approval for 25MW Solar Project in Somerset

British company has announced the successful of planning permission for its forthcoming 25MW project in Somerset.

Dubbed the North Preston Solar Park, the planned facility is poised to make a substantial impact, with the capacity to generate sufficient power to meet the annual needs of approximately 6,420 local households. Moreover, it is anticipated to deliver an impressive 74% net gain for habitats, far surpassing the government-mandated minimum of 10%.

Simon Murrells, Programme Manager at Innova, expressed confidence in the project's timeline, highlighting the absence of any connection delays. He affirmed that the project is on track to commence the construction phase by the final quarter of this year.

Murrells also acknowledged the crucial role played by community engagement in facilitating the project's approval. He noted that early and comprehensive consultations with local stakeholders garnered significant support for the initiative, reflecting the dedication of the project team and consultants.
