Yokogawa Electric Completes Installation of Remote Monitoring System for Japan’s Ishikari Bay Offshore Wind Farm

Corp has recently completed the delivery of a remote operation and monitoring system for the Ishikari Bay New Port offshore , marking a significant milestone in 's sector. This installation represents one of the largest commercial wind parks in Japan, boasting a capacity of 112 megawatts.

The comprehensive solution, developed and implemented by Yokogawa Electric's subsidiary, Yokogawa Solution Service Corp, encompasses a sophisticated video system and state-of-the-art brd technology integrated into the OpreX Collaborative Information Server. This innovative system has been deployed to monitor and control both the offshore wind turbines and facilities at the Ishikari site.

Furthermore, Yokogawa Electric has been entrusted with the responsibility of providing ongoing maintenance services for the wind farm, as well as for the monitoring systems, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.

Operational since the previous month, the Ishikari wind farm is jointly owned by prominent Japanese utility company JERA Co Inc and renewable energy developer Green Power Investment Corp (GPI), operating under the special-purpose corporation Green Power Ishikari GK.

In a testament to Yokogawa Electric's expertise and the success of their collaboration with Green Power, the company has secured additional orders to deploy similar monitoring systems across various wind farms throughout Japan. These systems will harness real-time data collection capabilities and leverage cloud-based analysis tools to enhance performance monitoring and operational efficiency.

Yokogawa Electric has also embarked on proof-of-concept tests with the DTSX3000 optical fibre temperature sensor, aimed at detecting potential damage to submarine cables at the Ishikari site. This proactive approach underscores the company's commitment to ensuring the reliability and longevity of critical infrastructure in the renewable energy sector.
