Residents in Puglia, Italy, Offered Investment Opportunity in RWE’s New Wind Farm

esidents of , , are being offered the chance to invest in RWE's latest wind farm project in the region, signaling a move towards community engagement in sustainable energy initiatives.

The initiative, dubbed “Let's Create Energy – Together for the Energy Transition in Italy,” invites local residents to become stakeholders in the 54MW San Severo project, with investment options ranging from €250 to €5000. In return, investors are promised a guaranteed return on investment over a 36-month period.

According to Paolo Raia, Country Chair for Italia, this venture underscores RWE's commitment to fostering partnerships with communities hosting its green energy projects. Raia stated, “The commitment towards the communities that host our green projects is a fundamental part of our strategy.”

Residents stand to benefit from an interest rate of 6.5% gross per year, with those residing in the Municipality of San Severo and the Province of enjoying a higher rate of 7.5% gross per year. Raia emphasized, “Offering residents the opportunity to directly benefit from in their territory, through their investments, is perfectly in line with our sustainability objectives.”

The financing process and management of investments are facilitated through Ener2Crowd, a platform authorized by CONSOB, the Italian authority for the supervision of financial markets.

The San Severo wind farm, located in the municipality of the same name, within the province of Foggia, is currently under construction and is expected to commence operations by the end of 2024.

From February 15 to March 5, 2024, exclusively residents of the Municipality of San Severo and the Province of Foggia will have the opportunity to invest online via the Ener2Crowd website and app. Subsequently, from March 6 to April 15, 2024, residents from the entire Puglia region will be eligible to participate in the investment opportunity.
