A unit of UK energy services company Centrica PLC has finalized a power offtake agreement with Vienna-based renewable energy firm Enery, concerning two solar farms in Estonia.
The three-year power purchase agreement (PPA) marks Centrica Energy's inaugural deal in the country and pertains to the 20-MWp Rummu and the 12-MWp Jersey solar parks situated in Harju county. Effective from March, the agreement solidifies Centrica's commitment to renewable energy expansion.
Developed and constructed by Enery in 2023, the two facilities are projected to generate 39 GWh of clean electricity annually. This output is sufficient to power approximately 12,366 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 24,550 tonnes per year.
The PPA with Centrica follows closely after Enery's recent signing of a 10-year virtual cross-border PPA with Hungarian beer company Dreher Sorgyarak Zrt, also known as Dreher Breweries.
