Chinese solar technology company LONGi has clinched a deal to supply just over one million modules, totaling 574 MWp in capacity, to Spanish utility Naturgy Energy Group SA. The contract specifies the use of LONGi's Hi-MO 5 series bifacial modules, boasting a 21.3% efficiency rate and incorporating gallium-doped technology, according to a recent statement by the company.
The modules are earmarked for deployment in five projects scheduled to be realized in Spain this year. The delivery will cover four locations across the country, spanning the regions of Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, and Andalusia.
The collaboration between LONGi and Naturgy dates back to 2018, with this contract marking another step in their ongoing partnership.
Naturgy, a Spanish utility present in over 20 countries, boasts a renewable power portfolio exceeding 6 GW internationally and a project portfolio comprising more than 195 ventures in Spain, Australia, and the US. Notably, the company recently commenced the construction of a 210-MW solar farm in Texas.
