Plug Power, a turnkey hydrogen solutions provider in the US, announced the successful completion of filling one of its tankers with liquid green hydrogen. This marks a significant milestone as the hydrogen was produced at Plug Power's recently inaugurated facility in Woodbine, Georgia.
The newly established facility stands as the largest liquid green hydrogen site in the US market, featuring eight 5-MW Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysers with a daily production capacity of up to 15 tonnes of hydrogen.
Plug Power revealed that the freshly produced hydrogen will be utilized at prominent sites of major corporations such as Walmart, Amazon, and Home Depot. The volume of hydrogen generated is substantial, capable of fueling 3,216 forklifts on a daily basis.
Sanjay Shrestha, Plug's General Manager for Energy Solutions and Chief Strategy Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the achievement, stating, “We took a big step today to make cost-effective green hydrogen available to our pedestal customers. This validates our investment in building out a production plant network – a bet on our customers' desire for more sustainable solutions.”
