Aggreko, the UK-based power solutions provider, revealed on Wednesday its successful acquisition of a 13-megawatt (MW) behind-the-meter solar project site in Texas. The transaction was executed through Aggreko's Energy Transition Solutions (Aggreko ETS) division, which is set to develop, own, and operate the facility under a long-term fixed-price power purchase agreement (PPA).
Jerry Polacek, President of Aggreko ETS, expressed satisfaction with the completion of the deal, emphasizing its addition to the company's expanding portfolio of solar and storage projects in Texas, collectively amounting to over 600 MW. The move aligns with Aggreko's commitment to contributing to the growing renewable energy landscape in the region.
This latest investment marks Aggreko's continuous efforts to strengthen its presence in the United States, following a series of announcements over the past few months.
In December, the company made headlines with the acquisition of a portfolio comprising nine ground-mounted community solar projects, boasting a combined capacity of approximately 59 MW, situated in the state of New York.
