US non-profit healthcare organization has inked a virtual (VPPA) with Scout Clean Energy, securing half of the output from the 180-MW Heart of Wind Farm in Texas. The VPPA covers a 90-MW portion of the wind farm, which commenced operations in 2020.

AdventHealth's commitment to procure 90 MW of wind power is in line with its broader goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2026. The VPPA will contribute to meeting 40% of the organization's electricity needs.

The Heart of Texas Wind Farm, located near McCulloch County, features 64 individual 300-foot-tall wind turbines and has the capacity to generate electricity for approximately 67,000 homes.

Scout Clean Energy, owned by Asset Management, manages a portfolio of around 1,000 MW of wind assets in operation and under construction. Additionally, the company has a robust pipeline of over 19,000 MW of wind, , and storage projects across 22 states. The VPPA underscores the growing trend of corporations committing to renewable energy procurement to meet sustainability goals.
