Renewable power plants operator Voltalia SA has reiterated its 2023 normalized EBITDA target of €275 million (USD 297 million) after reporting a 6% year-on-year increase in revenue for the previous year, reaching €495.2 million.
The Paris-based company attributed its revenue growth to a robust performance in its energy sales business, one of its primary operating segments. Energy sales surged by 23% to €299.3 million, driven by the commissioning of new power plants, resulting in an 18% increase in annual power output to 4,336 GWh.
In contrast, services revenues from third-party clients in 2023 declined by 12% year-on-year to €195.9 million. Concurrently, service revenue from internal activity tripled compared to the previous year. Excluding internal operations, revenue from development, construction, and equipment procurement activities dropped by 16% to €172.8 million. The signing of new operation and maintenance (O&M) deals generated €23.1 million in revenue, marking a 26% increase from the previous year.
As of the end of 2023, Voltalia boasted 2,370 MW of installed wind, solar, hydro, and biomass energy capacity, representing a twofold increase from the total of 1,571 MW recorded a year earlier. The company's strategic focus on expanding its renewable energy portfolio aligns with the broader industry trend towards sustainable power generation.
