China's National Energy Administration has recently released data revealing that the country's installed capacity for renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and photovoltaic power experienced significant growth during the first quarter of 2023. The data indicates that China's installed capacity for wind power increased by 11.7% year-on-year, reaching around 380 million kilowatts by the end of March. Meanwhile, solar power installations reached about 430 million kilowatts, reflecting a year-over-year increase of 33.7%.
The growth in renewable energy installations contributed to the country's installed power generation capacity, which amounted to approximately 2.62 billion kilowatts, up 9.1% year-on-year. China's recent investment in renewable energy is part of its green development goal, as the country aims to decrease its reliance on fossil fuels and decrease carbon emissions.
