Canadian renewable energy firm Innergex has received approval for two of its onshore wind projects in Hydro-Quebec's latest request for proposals.
The 300MW Manicouagan wind farm, developed in collaboration with the Innu Council of Pessamit and the regional county municipality of Manicouagan, is slated for commercial operation in 2029.
Additionally, the 100MW Lotbinieree project, developed in partnership with the Regional County Municipality of Lotbiniere and the Abenaki Councils of Odanak and Wôlinak, is expected to commence commercial operations in 2028.
Both projects have secured power purchase agreements with Hydro-Quebec, structured as 30-year take-or-pay contracts indexed to a predefined percentage of the Consumer Price Index. The agreements signify a significant step in Innergex's commitment to enhancing onshore wind capacity and contributing to the regional grid's renewable energy portfolio.
