Acciona Energia has marked a significant achievement with the successful construction of its inaugural hybrid renewable energy plant. The hybrid facility combines a 36MW wind park and a 29MW solar plant, strategically situated at the operational Escepar wind farm site in Spain's municipalities of Villalba del Rey and Tinajas (Cuenca).
During the construction phase of the photovoltaic (PV) farm, the project generated employment for up to 130 individuals at its peak, contributing positively to the local economy.

This initiative is aligned with Acciona Energia's broader commitment to social responsibility, evident through its Social Impact Management (GIS) program. The program aims to generate positive impacts on communities surrounding its facilities by reinvesting a portion of its annual income into the local area.
In Villalba del Rey, Acciona Energia is actively involved in a program to revitalize the Santos Sebastián e Isidro Cooperative, a key economic entity in the municipality. The company is financing various measures to enhance the cooperative's performance, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable community development.
Furthermore, Acciona Energia's engagement extends to the Association of Retirees and Pensioners of Tinajas, where the company is funding improvement initiatives for its facilities.

Escepar stands out as Acciona Energia's inaugural venture into hybrid renewables, a concept where multiple renewable energy generation technologies share the same connection point. This innovative approach optimizes grid utilization, providing a more consistent and stable renewable energy output.
The combination of wind and solar technologies not only reduces dependency on specific environmental conditions but also minimizes environmental impact by avoiding the construction of new power lines, substations, facilities, and roads that would be required for two independent projects. Acciona Energia's hybrid plant represents a notable stride towards sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
