German cleantech unicorn 1Komma5 has announced its entry into the Dutch market with the acquisition of Zonduurzaam, a solar and energy storage solutions provider based in Deventer.
Zonduurzaam has successfully sold and installed over 10,000 energy systems, with nearly 5,000 installations in 2023 alone. The company, founded and led by brothers Koen and Thomas Rozendom, boasts six locations across the Netherlands and employs approximately 100 experts.
The acquisition positions Zonduurzaam as the focal point for 1Komma5's market offering in the Netherlands, providing access to the German company's comprehensive product and software portfolio to millions of customers in the region.
1Komma5 specializes in clean-energy infrastructure installations, encompassing solar panels, energy storage solutions, EV wallboxes, and heat pumps. The company's smart energy management system, Heartbeat, is an integral part of its offerings.
This strategic move comes shortly after 1Komma5 secured banking financing of up to EUR 100 million (USD 109.5 million) in December 2023, aimed at facilitating its growth trajectory and potentially exploring capital market opportunities. The company had earlier garnered a double-digit million euro investment from European venture capital firm 2150 in the preceding year.
