Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured a 135 MW order to supply turbines for an undisclosed wind project in the USA.
The order, placed by Steelhead Americas, Vestas' North American development arm, comprises 30 units of the V163-4.5 MW turbines, representing Vestas' newest high-capacity factor turbine.
Steelhead Americas spearheaded the entire development process, including permitting, land acquisition, and construction design, emphasizing Vestas' increased focus on project development in key markets.
The comprehensive order includes turbine supply, delivery, and commissioning, accompanied by a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement aimed at ensuring optimal asset performance.
Turbine delivery is slated to commence in the third quarter of 2024, with commissioning scheduled for 2025. Vestas continues to strengthen its position in the US wind energy market, with this order contributing to its ongoing efforts to provide sustainable and efficient wind power solutions.
