Vestas Secures Orders for 142 MW in Diverse Wind Projects Across South Africa, Spain, and Germany

has recently inked deals for wind projects spanning , , and . The aggregate capacity of 142 MW reflects the company's commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions worldwide.

South Africa's 63 MW Wind Park:

Vestas has clinched an agreement for an unnamed 63 MW wind park in South Africa. The contract encompasses the supply and installation of 14 V150-4.5MW turbines, complemented by a comprehensive 20-year Active Output Management (AOM) 4000 service agreement. Anticipated hardware delivery is slated for the first half of 2024, with commissioning earmarked for the last quarter of the same year.

Spanish Venture of 37 MW:

In Spain, Vestas is set to contribute to a 37 MW project involving the supply and installation of six V162-6.2MW turbines. The agreement also includes a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Turbine delivery for this project is scheduled for the second half of 2024, with commissioning expected in the first half of 2025.

German Repowering Endeavor of 42 MW:

Vestas has received a firm order from WindStrom Erneuerbare Energien GmbH & Co.KG for the 42 MW Schacht Konrad 2 repowering project in , Lower Saxony, Germany. The order comprises four V162-6.2MW and three V162-5.6MW turbines, aiming to replace legacy turbines, enhance energy output, and extend the project's lifetime. Vestas will provide ongoing service under a 20-year AOM 4000 agreement.

Sulai Fahimi, Vice President Sales Central at Vestas, expressed enthusiasm about the unique Schacht Konrad 2 repowering project, highlighting its utilization of the former iron ore mining area's ideal wind speeds for Vestas' EnVentus fleet. Christoph Schramke, Managing Director of WindStrom Erneuerbare Energien, emphasized the collaborative efforts with Vestas and the positive impact of this repowering initiative on the German energy market.

Turbine delivery for the Schacht Konrad 2 project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2025, with commissioning expected to be completed in the third quarter of the same year. Vestas continues to play a pivotal role in driving the transformation of the global energy landscape toward sustainable and renewable sources.
