Independent power producer Red Rocket has solidified its commitment to South Africa's renewable energy landscape by placing a substantial 108MW order with Vestas for the Witberg Wind Farm in Western Cape. The groundbreaking project is set to become the largest private wind farm in South Africa, signaling a significant contribution to the nation's energy transition.
The comprehensive contract encompasses the supply and installation of 24 V136-4.5MW wind turbines, underscoring the scale and ambition of the Witberg Wind Farm. Additionally, the agreement includes a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) pact, emphasizing the long-term commitment to operational efficiency and performance.
Red Rocket's Chief Executive, Matteo Brambilla, highlighted the company's recent success in achieving financial close for the Witberg Wind Farm, positioning Red Rocket as a prominent Independent Power Producer in South Africa.
