BlueFloat Energy and Origin Energy have joined forces to pursue the development of the Eastern Rise Offshore Wind Project, applying for a Feasibility Licence in the declared Hunter offshore wind zone off the Hunter-Port Stephens coast in Australia. The proposed project aims to generate 1.725GW of renewable electricity, equivalent to powering approximately 825,000 homes.
The partnership capitalizes on BlueFloat Energy's international expertise in floating wind project development and Origin Energy's experience in the Australian energy market. Having submitted a Feasibility Licence application in November, the companies anticipate an announcement of successful applicants by the Federal Government next year.
