Germany's Federal Network Agency has unveiled maximum values for renewable energy tenders in 2024, responding to increased costs in plant construction and operation. The maximum bidding rates are set at €0.0735/kWh for onshore wind energy, €0.0737/kWh for ground-mounted solar, and €0.1050/kWh for rooftop solar.
These values align with the heightened figures implemented this year and reflect the Federal Network Agency's acknowledgment of rising costs, including increased interest rates for plant financing. The agency emphasizes that adhering to previous legal provisions would render the operation of newly planned plants financially unviable for the required contributions to the energy transition.

In the absence of these new determinations, maximum values would have reverted to substantially lower regulated figures outlined in the Renewable Energy Sources Act. These would be €0.0588/kWh for onshore wind energy, €0.0590/kWh for ground-mounted solar, and €0.0891/kWh for rooftop solar systems.
Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency, stated, “We ensure reliable framework conditions for tenders. The maximum values take into account the actual costs of renewables.”
