German renewables developer ABO Wind AG (ETR:AB9) has announced the signing of power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a US technology firm, covering the entire output of a wind farm under construction in Finland and a solar site project in Spain.
The Finnish wind power facility, located near Illevaara in the Kainuu region, is currently under construction and is expected to feature five Vestas V162 turbines with a targeted nominal output of 30 MW, generating 100 GWh annually. Commissioning is scheduled for February 2024.
Simultaneously, the solar power will be supplied from a 50-MWp project in the Guadalajara Province, central Spain. This solar facility is anticipated to produce 100 GWh of clean electricity annually, with operations expected to commence in mid-2025.
The recently signed PPAs, each with a 10-year term, solidify agreements with an unnamed US offtaker. Both projects, developed by ABO Wind, are greenfield initiatives to be constructed on a turnkey basis.
