Dominion Energy’s 20-MW Dry Bridge Energy Storage Project Achieves Full Operation in Virginia

Inc has announced the successful commencement of operations for the Dry Bridge project, a 20-MW/80-MWh facility located in Chesterfield County, south of Richmond.

Representing the largest battery energy storage system (BESS) in the Commonwealth of , the project is poised to provide power to approximately 5,000 homes during peak output. Services to customers commenced on December 7, marking Dominion's inaugural utility-scale, stand-alone energy storage facility.

Acquired from developer in September 2021, the Dry Bridge site signifies Dominion Energy's commitment to advancing clean and reliable energy solutions for its customer base. The project's completion aligns with the company's strategic initiatives in sustainable energy development.

Andrew Foukal, CEO of East Point Energy, expressed congratulations to Dominion Energy for achieving this milestone and acknowledged their dedication to delivering environmentally-friendly energy solutions. The successful operation of the Dry Bridge Energy Storage project contributes to the growing landscape of utility-scale battery storage solutions in the region.
