Spanish solar projects developer-operator, Solarpack, announced on Monday the signing of two power purchase agreements (PPAs), outlining commitments to supply electricity generated by its Pizarroso and Valkyria solar farms in Spain.
The PPAs specify that an undisclosed “global utility” will procure electricity from both operational solar facilities, Pizarroso and Valkyria. Pizarroso, a 49.8-MW solar farm located in Extremadura, was successfully connected to the grid earlier this year, with an estimated annual output of around 95 GWh.
The Valkyria plant, situated in Castile-La Mancha, boasts a capacity to produce approximately 300 GWh per year.
Solarpack, with a portfolio of 14 solar farms totaling 495 MW in Spain, has emerged as a key player in the solar energy sector. The company also manages PPAs for over 1,051 MW of solar projects globally, spanning regions such as Spain, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Malaysia, and India.
The recent agreements underscore Solarpack's continued efforts to expand its renewable energy footprint and contribute to the growing momentum of solar energy adoption, aligning with broader global sustainability goals.
