Enefit Green has recently finalized its investment decision for the 90MW Kelme 2 wind farm situated in Lithuania. This marks a significant milestone as Kelme 2 represents the second phase of the broader Kelme development initiative—a pivotal component of Enefit Green's strategic plan to augment its installed electricity generation capacity to 1900MW by the culmination of 2026.
Anticipated to commence operations in 2025, Kelme 2 is projected to yield approximately 315GWh of electricity annually. To realize this venture, Enefit Green is committing a substantial investment of nearly €150m. In a proactive move to secure essential funding for the wind farm's construction, the company had earlier entered into long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). These agreements encompass a portion of the anticipated production for the initial 5 to 7 years of Kelme 2's operational phase.
With the addition of the Kelme 2 wind farm, Enefit Green's ongoing construction portfolio now encompasses a total of six wind farms, contributing a cumulative capacity of 615MW upon successful completion. This strategic expansion underscores Enefit Green's dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions and reinforces its position in the evolving landscape of renewable power generation.
