U.S. renewable energy developers Brightcore Energy and Altus Power Inc have partnered to undertake a 7.5 MW rooftop solar project across properties co-owned by industrial and real estate firm Brennan Investment Group in New Jersey.
Currently in the execution phase, the project is slated for completion next month, as announced by Brightcore Energy on Tuesday. Focused primarily on the commercial and institutional markets, Brightcore Energy and Altus Power aim to outfit 19 selected properties with over 16,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels. Once commissioned, the solar arrays are expected to generate 8,993 MWh of electricity annually.
The real estate properties included in this multi-building initiative are owned by a joint venture between Brennan Investment Group and Global Gate Capital, an international investment firm. The project falls under the umbrella of a community solar program in New Jersey, recognized as one of the fastest-growing initiatives of its kind in the United States.
Chris Massey, Managing Principal of Brennan Investment, emphasized the importance of renewable energy in contemporary investment strategies, stating, “Renewable energy is an important facet of modern-day investment strategy, and this project helps us fulfill our goals.” The collaboration aligns with the broader trend of real estate firms integrating renewable energy solutions to meet sustainability objectives and contribute to the growing clean energy landscape in the U.S.
