China has witnessed a substantial increase in installed clean energy capacity during the first 10 months of this year, in line with its commitment to green development.
Data from the National Energy Administration (NEA) indicates that by the end of October, the installed capacity of solar power in the country grew by 47 percent year on year, reaching 540 million kilowatts. Concurrently, wind power capacity stood at approximately 400 million kilowatts, marking a 15.6 percent annual increase.
The overall installed power generation capacity in China reached around 2.81 billion kilowatts, reflecting a 12.6 percent year-on-year increase, as reported by the NEA.
China's proactive approach to renewable energy investment aligns with its pursuit of low-carbon and green development.
Major power companies specializing in solar energy across the country invested a total of 269.4 billion yuan (about 37.86 billion U.S. dollars) during the first 10 months, showcasing a remarkable surge of 71.2 percent compared to the previous year, according to the data.
