Australian broadband wholesaler NBN Co has recently sealed a 10-year agreement with Greek industrial group SA (FRA:MYH) to procure green electricity from its forthcoming 120-MW park in . The power purchase agreement (PPA) is set to take effect in December 2025, aligning with NBN Co's commitment to achieving 100% renewable energy usage by the same year.

Under the terms of the deal, NBN Co will purchase approximately 59 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of power from the Munna Creek park, representing over 20% of the facility's total output. The solar park, situated near Gympie, will feature around 255,000 (PV) panels, capable of generating electricity to meet the needs of 41,000 homes. Commercial operations are slated to commence in July 2025. Notably, Telstra Corp Ltd, a major Australian telecom player, has also joined as a power off-taker, committing to acquire half of the park's output.

This strategic move adds to NBN Co's existing power purchase agreements for 90 GWh each from the 420-MW Macarthur wind farm in and the 75-MW Wyalong solar park in New South Wales. The partnership underscores NBN Co's ongoing efforts to advance sustainability goals while contributing to the growth of renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
