Goldbeck Solar GmbH, the German solar developer and installer, has successfully secured a EUR 13 million (USD 14.2 million) debt facility from Dutch lender Triodos Bank. The funding will support the construction of two solar projects in the Netherlands, with a combined capacity of 33.3 megawatts peak (MWp). Goldbeck Solar announced the funding deal on Thursday, noting that the arrangement has facilitated financial close for the projects.
The allocated capital will be utilized for the development of the 10.8-MWp Reimerswaal 1 Bathpolder and the 22.5-MWp Reimerswaal 2 Krekragweg photovoltaic (PV) parks. Both projects are currently under construction in the village of Rilland, Zeeland province. The total investment required for the installation of these projects is estimated at EUR 26 million.
Goldbeck Solar's Head of Finance and Investment, Olga Kovalchuk, highlighted the significance of the partnership with Triodos Bank, stating, “The partnership with Triodos Bank underlines our shared commitment to promoting clean energy to drive a greener future and make a significant contribution to the energy transition in the Netherlands.”
With a global presence in 21 countries, Goldbeck Solar has accumulated a track record of installing 2 gigawatts peak (GWp) of photovoltaic capacity since its establishment in 2001. The company also manages an operations and maintenance (O&M) portfolio of 1,500 MWp. This funding marks another step in Goldbeck Solar's efforts to advance renewable energy initiatives and contribute to the ongoing energy transition.
