Italian renewable power producer Alerion Clean Power SpA announced on Thursday its agreement to acquire Wind Farm Penant Walters Foelt Ltd, a British company holding rights to a 35-megawatt (MW) wind park in Wales.
The deal, facilitated by Alerion UK Ltd, involves a payment of approximately EUR 55 million (USD 60 million) and aligns with the company's strategic expansion in the renewable energy sector. The transaction is expected to be finalized by the first half of the next year.
While specific details about the construction and commissioning timeline are currently undisclosed, the project slated to join Alerion's portfolio is fully permitted. The wind park will be situated in Neath Port Talbot, southwestern Wales, with an anticipated annual electricity generation of around 100 gigawatt-hours (GWh) once operational.
Alerion Clean Power, active not only in the UK but also in Spain, Romania, and Bulgaria, boasts a gross installed capacity of 867 MW, according to information available on its website. The acquisition marks another step in the company's broader strategy to strengthen its presence in key renewable energy markets.
