Trina Solar, a member of the Solar Module Super League (SMSL), has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Australian solar wholesale distributor Solar Juice, outlining a significant deal for the purchase of 1GW of Trina Solar modules.
The agreement specifies that Solar Juice will acquire 1GW of Trina's Vertex Series modules, encompassing the Vertex S+ mono-facial modules with a power rating exceeding 450W, tailored for residential installations. Additionally, the deal includes the Vertex NEG18R.28, a 500W+ n-type i-TOPCon (tunnel oxide passivated contact) dual-glass module designed specifically for commercial and industrial (C&I) as well as residential projects.
This collaboration follows Trina Solar's recent 1.5GW supply agreement with Marubeni Australia and a separate 700MW deal with Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation in the Philippines, demonstrating the company's strategic engagements in the Asia-Pacific region.
In the first three quarters of 2023, Trina Solar reported module shipments surpassing 45GW. The company continues to pivot towards the mass production of TOPCon technology, aligning with the recent inauguration of its 10GW TOPCon module production facility in Jiangsu province, China.
