French independent renewable power producer, Technique Solaire, has successfully raised €200 million (USD 213.8m) in a funding round involving its founders and existing shareholders Credit Agricole Group and Bpifrance. The newly secured capital is earmarked to bolster the company's expansion efforts both in the domestic market and internationally, according to a statement released by Technique Solaire on Friday.
Following the funding round, the company's three founding members will retain majority ownership through the JLT Invest holding company. Established in 2008, Technique Solaire currently boasts a portfolio of over 450 MWp of solar assets, encompassing ground-mounted, rooftop, and carport installations, along with a robust 2-GWp pipeline. Notably, approximately 200 MWp of the installed portfolio involves photovoltaic (PV) plants integrated with agricultural activities.
Under its strategic plan, Technique Solaire aims to achieve ownership of 1 GW by the conclusion of 2024. Looking ahead to the end of the decade, the company has set an ambitious commissioning target of 4 GW, involving an investment of approximately €4 billion between 2024 and 2030.
This funding infusion positions Technique Solaire to accelerate its growth trajectory, contributing to the broader renewable energy landscape in France and beyond.
