KGAL Investment Management and Access Capital Partners have jointly announced the successful sale of the 22MW Honkajoki Finnish wind farm to the Ardian Clean Energy Evergreen Fund. The wind farm, located in western Finland, boasts nine wind turbines with a combined installed capacity of 21.6MW and has been operational since 2013.
The Honkajoki wind farm was originally part of a renewable energy fund managed by KGAL. KGAL's asset managers demonstrated their proficiency by achieving above-average returns through the implementation of optimization measures during the operation of the wind farm.
Managing Director of KGAL Investment Management, Michael Ebner, highlighted the significance of this divestment in a complex market environment. He stated, “Now, we have successfully completed the divestment of Honkajoki together with Access Capital Partners in an environment of rising interest rates and high volatility in electricity markets. This is further proof of our expertise as an asset manager along the entire value chain.”
Ebner emphasized KGAL's commitment to providing sustainable fund solutions with attractive returns for investors, irrespective of transient market fluctuations. This transaction not only underscores the resilience and dynamism of the renewable energy sector but also signifies the continued commitment of industry players to deliver value to their investors.
