Buss Energy Group has clinched a significant contract to offer marshalling services for EnBW's 960MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm, based in the North Sea, with operations commencing from Eemshaven in the Netherlands. The contract, granted by Heerema Marine Contractors, is set to kick off by the close of 2023 and will be executed by Buss Terminal Eemshaven (BTE).
The scope of work encompasses a wide array of logistical tasks, including the unloading of monopiles and transfer pieces, terminal handling, transport, component storage, and the subsequent loading onto seagoing barges for installation. Furthermore, Buss Energy Group will take charge of the engineering and project management facets related to the logistics involved in this ambitious offshore venture.
Moritz von Schwerdtner, Chief Operating Officer Offshore Wind of Buss Energy Group, expressed the significance of this achievement, stating, “For Buss Energy Group, the award of another offshore marshalling project underlines the leading position of Buss Terminal Eemshaven in the market of the North Sea and supports our approach to serve the industry not only as a provider of terminal areas but as a full-service provider.”
The He Dreiht wind farm is set to feature 64 wind turbines and is strategically located approximately 90 kilometers northwest of the island of Borkum and 110 kilometers west of Helgoland. The wind farm is on track for grid connection by the end of 2025.
The monopiles designated for this project will boast a substantial diameter of 9.2 meters, lengths of up to 71 meters, and unit weights reaching a remarkable 1350 tons. Transition pieces, essential for the wind turbines' foundation, will weigh up to 640 tons and reach heights of up to 35 meters.
The intricate transport and offshore installation of these colossal components will be expertly handled by Heerema Marine Contractors, marking a significant step forward in the development of the He Dreiht offshore wind farm.
